Description

The Raduga Grëz The Sea at Sainte Marie building blocks are a unique wooden play set inspired by Vincent van Gogh's painting The Sea at Sainte Marie. With the different shapes and shades of blue, children can recreate the artwork, or create their very own seascape, boat trip, or fantasy world.

This set encourages open-ended play: each block can be something different every time. Today, the blocks form a wavy sea or a sailboat, tomorrow they will be used as scenery, a building element, or part of a self-invented artwork. In this way, the set stimulates imagination, creativity, and free play in a calm and playful manner.

Playing with art and imagination

The set was developed in collaboration with the Pushkin Museum and brings art closer to children in an accessible way. While playing, they discover shapes, composition, and color, while creating their own stories and images. This makes these building blocks not only beautiful to play with but also inspiring as a first introduction to art.

The blocks can be used to recreate a Van Gogh seascape, to create one's own maritime scene, or simply as loose building forms in free play. As a result, the set effortlessly grows with the child's imagination.
