Description
The City in a Box by Raduga Grëz is a compact wooden building set that allows children to create their own city, buildings, and fantasy worlds. The set consists of elongated and abstract wooden shapes that can represent something different every time.
Precisely because of this, this set is perfect for open-ended play. Today, a block can be an apartment building; tomorrow, it could be stairs, a table, a bridge, a library, or even a piece of the moon. There is no fixed outcome: the child decides what each part becomes.
The longer shapes make it possible to create tall structures and multi-story buildings. As a child grows older, the play grows with them: from simple stacking to complete cities, interiors, and architectural constructions.
Playing without a fixed outcome
With the City in a Box, children can, among other things:
- Build their own city or neighborhood
- Create multi-story houses and buildings
- Experiment with balance and construction
- Build an interior with stairs, columns, and furniture
- Stack the tallest possible towers
- Trace the shapes and use them for abstract drawings
- Play alone or invent complete worlds together
The set combines beautifully with Moving People and Rounds from Raduga Grëz for even more play possibilities.
About Raduga Grëz
Raduga Grëz creates wooden toys for modern families who value creativity, natural materials, and beautiful design. The designs are deliberately kept simple, so that the toy doesn't dictate what a child "must" do with it, but rather invites them to imagine what it can become.
The toy pieces are handmade in small batches from solid wood. Raduga Grëz works with responsibly sourced wood and intentionally allows natural grains, color variations, and other characteristics to remain visible.
Handmade from solid wood
Each part is hand-finished, and the corners are carefully rounded. The blocks are not varnished, so the wood retains its natural feel and offers a pleasant grip during building.
The colored parts are finished with safe water-based paint, allowing the natural wood structure to remain visible.
